16th June 2014 – ‘The Day of Vengeance’ begins for Germany with 244 V1 bombs reaching England. (From WW2-net Timelines. 16th June 1944 – The US 1st Army liberates Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte, south-east of Valognes and west of Sainte Mère-Eglise. (See The Battle for Saint-Sauveur-Le-Vicomte.)
Eric Brewer was still at Point 103, La Belle Épine, near Tilly-sur-Seules:

61st Reconnaissance Regiment were involved in the Green Howards' successful attack on Cristot from Audrieu (near Point 103).
